I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for a year and a half. Over the past 6 months I have had some urine, blood, and even hair alcohol tests come back positive for alcohol (I have had no relapses for a year and a half). When I got sober, I started drinking a lot of Dr. Pepper and eating a lot of carbs when I do eat to fill full faster. I am currently underweight due to the stress of my divorce/custody issues. Tonight my aa sponsor found out and told me about candida albicans. This has to be what's going on with my body. I need to know what kind of doctor to see, what kind of tests to have run, etc. to find out if this is what is going on. ASAP. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I was diagnosed for a Candida Yeast infection about six months ago as I explained before.I'm beginning a Candida diet but it gives me worse side effects than the actual yeast infection. I feel weak, I don't have enough energy to do my daily activities, I sleep a lot.Two days ago I had burning and itching outside of my vagina but I didn't want to put anything on so I took cold shower and that seemed to help a little. My vulva is still a little irritated and it itches at times. It's strange because I never had this symptom,I only had a lot of vaginal discharge when I was diagnosed with Candida. So I researched more about it and found a supplement called Arthur Andrew Medical Syntol AMD it's a natural supplement.I've done tons of research about it and I haven't found bad reviews or people complaining about side effects but still it sounds too good to be true.I have made my decision to start with this supplement and see how it goes.Hopefully it will help me.I will make an appointment with my gynecologist to check up on me.I'll let you know if it works as a cure for Candida.Sheba.

I went to the doctor two years ago for a pap smear when she came back she told me I had Bacterial Vaginosis. She gave me some pills, treated me like crap and sent me home without saying any other word or answering all the questions I had.I was so scared so I did some research and I decided to visit a Gynecologist at a nice Hospital.I explained her what had happened and asked me about my symptoms.I didn't have any fishy smell but I had tons of white powdery fluid on my panties plus I explained to her I had just started at 21 to be sexually active and my partner had some tests done as well to make sure he didn't have any STD's(im 23 still with the same partner). She said she wanted to make sure it was BV before giving any treatment. She did a variety of lab tests including cultures and BV and VAG screen. She called me to give me a two pill treatment for Candida bc I was misdiagnosed with BV.My symptoms haven't worsen at all, I still don't have the fishy smell, I don't have that much white powder except when Im in my fertile weeks.I feel normal, I can sleep very well, I eat fine, I don't lose focus or anything at all.I do have some digestive problems but my mother inherited colitis from my grandma and since I was little I started to have the same digestive problems.Does it mean I don't have it anymore?Could it be that I was misdiagnosed again and maybe the white powder is something else? How severe is Candida? Can it kill me?Can it leave me infertile? Please help me!

I am 24 years old and have had at least 12 yeast infections per year for the last 6 years. I have been to every doctor and every specialist in my state and no one can help me. Yeast infections are not my only symptoms I also suffer from extreme migraines, terrible joint and muscle pain, I know it sounds crazy but sometimes my skin hurts. I have no sex drive which is tearing my relationship apart and horrible anxiety. I just found out about this condition yesterday and I’m looking forward to making the change to make myself healthy again. It is not going to be easy, I drink a lot of soda and coffee and have a major sweet tooth (another symptom of Candida). I will post in 6 weeks and let you know how I’m doing. I can’t wait to feel like I’m 24 again!
